The welcome email is really accurate.

Alrighty, and here we are proper. Importing a blog with freaking ten thousand posts is very time-intensive and laggy and irritating! So instead, I’m gonna start yet another Tumblr blog to send all the most important stuff to, and get that archived up here. And when that’s in place? Well, then I’ll start experimenting with WordPress. Partly in anticipation of Tumblr continuing to hit the shit fan, and partly because I’ve really only heard good things about this site, I might as well start to give it a proper try.

@abadtime After that chapter, I had to go back and reread 22 for the relative happiness of it. And then give a shot at drawing Sans as he examined his reflection for the first time.

But check this out! This is the first time I’ve tried drawing something on paper, then redrawing it on the tablet by tracing the paper. Unfortunately requires me to stretch the image to get the proportions right, but this could be very handy for getting the base of an image down. I’m glad a post went around with this suggestion.

Here’s the results of some fun with my scanner, overlapping the layers in GIMP, and trying to match the contrast and saturation settings between each layer. Originally consisted of six pages of pen and colored pencil on grid paper. Things are still slightly crooked here and there, but I’m okay with that. I’m using this version as the base for a purely digital version next, using the grid and the snap to grid setting to smooth it out.

This is a map of approximately half the planet for my story setting; the green lines indicate the poles and equator. Each square represents 2 degrees latitude and longitude, so it is extremely distorted and large close to the poles. My goal is to someday work out a full globe and make a three dimensional model. 🙂
